David A.Teitler - Founder and CEO
David is a respected thought leader with extensive experience ideating, benchmarking and scaling digital business models and strategies to capture a greater share of national advertising budgets for the local media industry.
David founded BlackBox Media in 2007 and re-branded Local Media Advisor in 2014. He is responsible for the company's strategic vision and the sales, operations and technology that supports it.
Prior to LMA, David was Founder and President of DotConnect Media, an advertising network and application service provider for over 1,300 hosted online newspaper websites. The size and scope of the business grew exponentially from its inception as the AdOne Network in 1999 to become the largest hosted online newspaper network in the U.S. The primary driver of this growth was AdOne's early adoption of automated ad operations systems, which served to streamline processing capacity, speed to market and economies of scale.
After a distinguished 20 year consumer magazine career in sales,marketing and general management with leading publisher such as Conde Nast, Hearst and The Washington Post Company, David was a founding member of the executive management team for the Newspaper National Network (NNN). As VP, Sales and Strategic Planning, David's team developed the medium's first brand attribution studies to compare its relative impact to TV and magazine advertising with Procter & Gamble and Kraft/General Foods in 1997.
David has published articles, moderated and participated in digital industry panels on topics ranging from digital media convergence, the opportunities and dangers of advertising supported social media, geo-fencing and hyper-local targeting..
He was honored by Advertising Age as one of the "Top 100 Media Representatives in America" while working for Newsweek magazine.
David is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany, holding a BS degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
Betsy Ammer – Vice President, Operations
Betsy brings over 20 years of sales, media, marketing and advertising management experience to LMA. She is responsible for managing Ad Operations, Technology and Financial analysis.
Betsy has had a distinguished career in leading magazine publishers and advertising agencies. Prior to joining LMA, Betsy held senior sales positions at Disney, Hearst, Meredith and McCall’s.
Betsy began her career at Young & Rubicam, working on such blue chip accounts as General Foods. After rising to Media Supervisor in New York, Betsy became the first Media Director of Y&R’s San Francisco office.
Betsy was selected as one of the "Top 100 Media Representatives in America" by Advertising Age.
She is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and is an avid knitter.
